I’ve started the process of selling my home, located in Chalmette, LA. To facilitate the process, I decided to list my home with a realtor. It was a great decision since the realtor was already working with a potential buyer that happened to fall in love with my current home. Now the extra work begins – inspections, repairs, abundant amount of documentation, etc.
One mistake that I’ve made when building the home was installing gas-insulated windows manufactured by Accu-weld. The salesman sold me on the concept of gas-insulated windows and the lifetime warranty. Since 2007, the manufacturer has filed bankruptcy and all lifetime warranties have been voided. I’ve tried a local glass repair company and the end result was that it would be cheaper to install new windows than attempt to repair the windows I currently have installed. Lucky for the new owners, they will have a house with new windows.
