Welcome to my site.
My name is Mickey C. Prattini, Jr. I’ve started www.prattini.net in 2012 as a side project involving multiple site applications. The blog is intended as a creative writing outlet and a means to help others learn of the many aspects involved the life of an electrical engineer. Although electrical engineering primarily focuses on how we can benefit from manipulating the flow of electrons, the life of an electrical engineer also consists of design, codes & standards, project team interaction, continuing professional development, construction support, business development, networking, educating others, etc. The engineering field itself is very broad reaching to almost everything. By adding the “people element” to the equation, engineers wear many hats throughout their careers.
To describe a few of the numerous hats that I’ve worn, I have held the following roles:
– Army Soldier (electrician)
– College Student
– Construction Field Engineer
– Industrial Design Engineer
– Building Commissioning Authority
– Electrical Engineer of Record
– Adjunct Faculty (electronic communications instructor)
– Project Manager
– Web developer (my 2 sites)
– Basic IT support and programming
The list would continue to get much longer if I started including all of the things in my personal life. If anyone has any specific questions about my blog topics, please feel free to contact me using the contact form (which should be up and running within a week…)
Thanks for visiting!
